In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Prayer and Greetings.. Dear Reader,
The release of this issue of Reflections falls at the beginning of 2009, coinciding with the birth of Jesus and the start of the year 1430 of the hijira (migration) of Prophet Mohammad. We welcome the convergence of such timing and view it as an opportunity to introduce a slightly new look for Reflections. We would also like to reaffirm that this magazine aims to foster elements of rapprochement and interchange of knowledge among those who adhere to the different religions of the world.
The most important elements in promoting understanding, cordial relationships, and communication among civilizations and nations are those of acceptance of others, avoiding the spirit of uncertainty, acquiring the truth and finding authenticity of information. These elements should be used as guiding principles in any meeting, dialogue, human fraternity, and pursuit of a prosperous future, otherwise there will be no chance for peace and harmony in the world.
Inside this special issue of Reflections, the reader will find a series of topics, discussions, and thoughts that treat a number of significant subjects for those who seek knowledge or wish to acquire the truth. We hope these articles provide a fruitful soil for discussion and dialogue. Their topics range from an introduction to the beliefs and principles of Islam, on individuals and nations, to Jesus-the sign of the Lord and the eternal miracle of Mary his mother; including a tribute to Imam Hussein Bin Ali, the master of the youth of the people in heaven. Imam Hussein’s heroism and sacrifices filled the world with lessons from his contributions, patience, and principles and built a large base that confronts injustice, humiliation, and oppression against humankind. He provided the basis for a future that will be filled with justice and prosperity through the awaited Imam al Mahdi and Jesus.
Reflections door is always open and welcomes all discussions, dialogue, and participation.
Happy New Year
