This is the day of Eid Al Ghadeer, the greatest divine Eid and the Eid for the progeny of the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp). All the Prophets appointed by Allah (S.W.T.) have celebrated this day as an Eid and recognized its importance. The following verse was revealed to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.): " O Apostle! Deliver what has been sent down to you from your Lord; and if you don't do it, you have not delivered His message (at all); and Allah will protect you from the people ..." (Quran 5:67). Following that, the Holy Messenger Muhammad (pbuh&hp) abided by Allah (S.W.T.) and appointed Imam Ali (pbuh) as his successor and declared that whosoever he was the master of, Ali was his master as well. There are many important recommended acts that should be preformed on this day, and he who does not perform them, would be missing out on a very great event where all his sins could be forgiven by Allah (S.W.T.) One of the most important acts to be performed on this holy day, is the act of Fasting. Other recommended acts could be found on the following link: http://duas.org/ghadir.htm |
