Statement of the Crescent Committee Regarding the New Crescent Moon of the Holy Month of Sha`aban 1429AH
To all believers in North America,
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon all of you.
"The Crescent Committee" of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America would like to announce that there were no reports of sightings of the New Crescent Moon at sunset on Friday August 1st, 2008.
Therefore Saturday August 2nd 2008 will be considered the last day of Rajab. It follows as a result the 1st of the Month of Sha'aban 1429 will be Sunday August 3rd, 2008.
May Allah bless all of you and provide you with the success to achieve closeness through acts of worship in this Holy Month.

بيان بشأن هلال شهر رجب لعام 1429 هجري
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
تعلن هيئة الهلال في مجلس العلماء عن عدم أية إفادة لرؤية هلال شهر شعبان في سائر أنحاء أميركا الشمالية غروب يوم الجمعة الأول من أغسطس، وبالتالي فإن يوم السبت هو آخر أيام شهر رجب المرجب وسيكون يوم الاحد الواقع فيه 3 أغسطس 2008 هو أول أيام شهر شعبان بإذنه تعالى.
نسأله تعالى أن يعيده على الجميع بالخير واليمن والبركة، وأن يوفقنا جميعاً لعباداته وطاعاته والاحتفاء بمواليد أئمة الهدى لاسيما مولانا صاحب العصر والزمان عجل الله تعالى فرجه الشريف.
