Regarding the new moon of the Holy Month of Sha`aban 1429AH
Saturday August 2nd 2008 will be considered the last day of Rajab. It follows as a result the 1st of the Month of Sha'aban 1429 will be Sunday August 3rd, 2008.

Based on this information and in accordance to the principles for identifying the beginning of the new month of Grand Ayatullah Sayed Sistani may Allah prolong his life, it was concluded that....

Statement regarding the beginning of the Month of Jamadi Ath'thani 1429 A.H.

Based on reports of sightings of the new moon received from different areas in North America, we would like to announce that tomorrow Thursday June 5th 2008 is the first day of Jamadi Ath'thani 1429 A.H.

We ask Allah to make this month a blessed one for all the Muslims worldwide.
