The Hellal Committee of the Conference of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America would like to announce that at sunset on Monday 5th of May, the new crescent was not seen. Also there has been no astronomical prediction of it being seen.
Statement regarding the beginning of the Month of Rabi Ath'thani 1429 A.H
We would like to announce that the new crescent has been seen in a few areas in North America. This agrees with trusted astronomical calculation. Therefore, Monday April 7th 2008 is the first day of Rabi Ath'thani 1429.

The Hellal Committee of the Conference of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America would like to announce that at sunset on Monday 5th of May, the new crescent was not seen. Also there has been no astronomical prediction of it being seen. Thus Tuesday May 6th is the last day of Rabi Al-Aw'wal. And Wednesday May 7th is going to be the first day of Jamadi Al-Aw'wal.

We pray that all your moments in this month pass with the remembrance of Allah, the Almighty.
