"The Crescent Committee" of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America would like to announce that the New Crescent was sighted at sunset on Saturday in Phoenix, AZ clearly with the naked eye. This comes in accordance to the astronomical predictions which states ease of sightability throughout North America. Unfortunately the rest of the areas were cloudy and rainy which obstructed the sighting.
