The Ramadhan issue of IMAM's Reflections magazine is out!  This marks our 3rd issue for the year 1428AH, the 4th to be expected just before Muharram.

The theme for this issue is "Perfecting your Practice," and expanding on that theme we have plenty of good articles on khums, worship, fasting, health, women's rights, parenting, and other topics.

This issue kicks off with a comprehensive article describing the history of khums, from its pre-Islamic origins to its grounding the Qur’an.  It also describes the reasoning behind khums and its benefits.  This article is followed by two more on khums: one goes into more depth on modern day khums while the other gives the reader instructions on how they may calculate it exactly.

Also featured in this issue are Grand Ayatullah Al-Seestani’s answers on questions regarding Iraq—a highly valuable resource during these turbulent times.

Thanks to our writers, further guidance reaches us through articles on the Prophet (pbuh), Ramadan, and the Qur’an, not to mention the feature article, “Perfecting your Practice.”

After these we have an article covering the visit of Hujjat Al-Islam Sayyid Mohamad Hussayn Al-Hakim, son of Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Sa’eed Al-Hakim.  Here we have emphasizes the importance on unity and religious authority, and also provided plenty of lovely photographs to commemorate the visit.

Further sweetening the deal, we have a great article on honey, a wonderful treat and good for your health.  The benefits of honey have long been recognized by Islam, as cited from hadeeth.

Finishing up our articles, we touch upon youth, parenting, and marriage, three closely related topics.  Finally, there is an Islamic center spotlight on Yaseen Educational Foundation, updated info on IMAM’s organizational activities, interviews, reviews, fiqh, poems, a crossword puzzle, and letters to the editor.
