Sayyid Mohamed Baqer al-Kashmiri accepted an invitation from the Yaseen Edu Foundation to give a lecture which he entitled, “towards Mahdi education on the light of the Quran.” Sayyid al-Kashmiri talked about several important and sensitive subjects. The core of his speech was about the future role of al-Imam al-Mahdi (atfs), which occupies the minds of all mankind rather than only those of the Muslims. His lecture focused on these important points:
1. Surat Al-nasr and the way in which some translators interpret the word “Faith” and the promise of divine victory, which means the opening of Allah (swt) on the day of the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (atfs), the awaited one.
2. This opening and Divine victory is the promise of Allah which is necessarily true and does not change or fail to become a reality. It is a definite victory, while every other victory that occurred was incomplete and not definite.
3. He discussed, based upon evidence from the holy Quran, the invalidity of the view that the appearance of the Imam will be one of violence and bloodshed. Rather, he showed that the appearance of Imam Mahdi (atfs) will be accompanied by nothing but knowledge, reason, logic, and ultimately will be an intellectual victory, as Allah (swt) said, “That He may cause it to prevail over all religions” 48- Alfath Ayah 28
4. He explained the way Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) will govern his community, and that his governance will be completely in accordance with the example of his grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (saws). He also explained the way in which the Imam (atfs) will deal with the citizens under his governance and his opponents.
5. He gave and idea of the possibility of providing liabilities to Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) and will they have ideal rights and freedom or is this not possible?
6. He reminded the attendants of their duty which becomes necessary after they come to believe that the victory is an ideal victory. The effect of it is that he will bring the people to the religion of God in groups rather than one by one. He will do this because the Quran says, “There is no compulsion in religion.” The believers must be equipped with knowledge, faith, culture and ethical conduct so that they will be sincere participants in the Mahdi reform movement.
After this, the attendants from among the large gathering of youth brothers and sisters in South California were given the opportunity for a question and answer session with Sayyid al-Kashmiri. |
