On May 7, 2011, Sayyid Baqir Kashmiri and Sayyid Haidar Bahrelolom were invited to speak on the occasion of the commemoration of the second Fatimiyyah in San Antonio, TX. Sayyid Baqir Kashmiri spoke in Arabic while Sayyid Haidar Bahrelolom spoke in English. The following day, they met with important individuals in the community to establish a new Islamic center or association to recover the al-Rida school. These students came to study for their Master's and PhD degrees and want a center to be able to worship as a community, so they approached IMAM for assistance. They discussed several topics including how to better serve the community, especially regarding taking care of the orphans and assisting in building orphanages. Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri was invited to attend a special program with the community at the Al-Murtaza Islamic Center on March 20, 2011 with hundreds of believers in attendance. The president of the Supreme Shia Council of Germany, Dr. Mohammed Amer, gave a speech about how the Ahlul Bayt [a] built a Shia society. He added that although the Immaculates [a] were mainly not involved in the governments of their times, they didn't allow the Shia to be isolated from society and in fact encouraged them to keep their Shia identity. From this point, he talked about the importance of integration in the west as long as the integration is responsible and does not result in us losing our identity and our noble culture. Then, Sayyid Al-Kashmiri gave a speech and began by relaying the greetings of His Eminence, Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani to the community. He also talked about the project with the office of Sayyid Al-Sistani, which involves keeping a strong communication between the jurists and the believers from both the east and the west. From this point, he talked about the project of Sayyid Al-Sistani in western countries and specifically the I.M.A.M. organization. He mentioned the mission and vision for I.M.A.M. and the different responsibilities the organization takes care of. Sayyid Al-Kashmiri also suggested that some of the organizations and projects should merge with the Al-Murtaza Islamic Center. He encouraged people to work on supporting their Islamic centers because they are the only place that can save the new generation and the youth in general. In the questions and answers session, he emphasized to the community to use I.M.A.M., which is the liaison office of His Eminence, for any religious questions, financial issues, Khums issues, etc. He added that I.M.A.M. is the right place to go to and that the community needs to stay in touch with them. He also discussed the project of Ascent TV and mentioned the importance of their work including their efforts to make entertaining productions with powerful lessons using the sayings of the Ahlul Bayt [a] or a Qur'anic verse. He transitioned from Ascent TV to make a point about the importance of being creative in presenting Islam to all people through modern mediums such as the media.
